Our Team



Sylvia is the owner and operator of Ballroom Dance Center. She has been active in the ballroom dance industry for 25 years and has earned many respectable accolades in dancing and teaching. She has earned the title of US Rising Star Latin Champion and has won and been a finalist in many competitions across the country. Her students have consistently placed at the top in local and national competitions. Her experience has made her a popular choice with collegiate dance teams as well; she has worked with the Catholic University of America Ballroom Dance Team as well as the University of Madison Ballroom Dance Team.

Sylvia has been awarded the recognition of #1 Top Teacher at the Crystal Ball Championships as well as Top Teacher at the Windy City Open and Harvest Moon Championships. Ballroom Dance Center has also been awarded the #1 Top Studio at the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Harvest Moon Ball Championships.


Ballroom Dance Instructor
Liz grew up in San Juan, PR. Her competition styles are American Rhythm and Smooth in Pro-Am and in Professional her style is American Rhythm.  When asked what she loves most about teaching, Liz says, “helping people achieve their dreams and goals. No matter how big or small, it is truly rewarding. Liz considers Mambo her favorite dance. She is very excited to meet and teach some friendly new students! Her accomplishments include: Snow Ball Professional Novice Rhythm-2nd place 2018 and 2014-Amateur Rising Star- Champ- Grand Nationals, Fl.


Ballroom Dance Instructor
Melissa is a 2-time National Latin Junior Champion. She teaches all forms of partner dance but specializes in ballroom and latin. She actively competes with her Pro-Am Student partners on the competitive circuit. Melissa is also a certified Zumba Fitness Instructor and enjoys teaching morning Zumba classes. In her free time, she is currently pursuing a degree in Law and loves to travel.



Ballroom Dance Instructor
Andrew has been teaching partnership dancing since 2010, and loves sharing dance with individuals and couples of all levels. He recently moved to Chicago to pursue a professional partnership with another dance teacher in the area; they are competing in American Smooth. Andrew teaches all styles of ballroom, plus West Coast Swing, Latin dances, and Nightclub styles.


Ballroom/Latin Dance Coach
Max was born in Kiev, Ukraine and came to the U.S. in 1992 at the age of nine. At the encouragement of his older brother Zachary, he began dancing at age 11 at Kaiser Dance Academy in New York.  He was traveling nationally and internationally, winning numerous titles, including 1996­-1998 undefeated U.S. Junior Latin Champion, 1999-­2001 Youth Latin Champion finalist, and two-­time Junior and one-time Youth representative to the World Championships.
